Pozilla winscan software11/8/2022 ![]() ![]() I still use mine to monitor conventional, 800 MHz TRS and for Trunker. WinScan also has an easy-to-use interface and a great search interface that records hits both in text form and on a graph. ![]() It has a "multiscan" feature which allows the 895 to scan both conventional and trunked systems at the same time.this is something the scanner cannot do without software help. I believe Scanner Master still sells it though-but it's pricey. My favorite software for this radio is WinScan 2.1 from Pozilla Software.but I think they've discontinued it. The 895 FAQ at Strong Signals (also linked here) has information on the programming cable, which is not a standard DB9 connector.73s Mike PC895 is available in both 895 Yahoo groups - and for starters, just to check out the 895 and how it's communicating - it's a good start.Ĭheck out the BC895Xlt Wiki page - lots of links to software and reviews. I tried Scancat, and couldn't make it work at all in the conventional mode it worked pretty well as trunking software, however. To be honest, I haven't heard much good about Trunkstar Pro, even tho it supposedly supports the 895. If you decide to use the 895 as a UHF milair scanner - and it's a good choice for this app - Radiomax is the way to go. #Pozilla winscan software upgrade#It's easy to set up, has a very good logging system (no recording, unfortunately) and probably the most important thing - has an easy way to upgrade your data if you decide to get another Uniden scanner. The program was created almost a decade (maybe more) ago, and doesn't explicitly support XP. It's very much a hit or miss category here - some folks have made it work on XP, others haven't. If you can make it work on your machine - Winscan 2.1 is probably among the best (the company that originally made the software no longer exists). ![]()
